About Me
I grew up near to the East Coast of China. When I was ten years old, I immigrated to America and settled immediately to North Wilkesboro, NC. My native language is Fuzhouness, which is one of the many dialects in China. I also speak fluent Mandarin. I attended Middle and High School in Wilkes County. Being the only Chinese student in the entire county, I had to self-teach myself English. With all of the hard work, ultimately, I graduated as the valedictorian of my class.
I pursued further education at UNC-Chapel Hill, where I received my Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry and my North Carolina Education Certification. My interest for teaching began when I was in High School. I volunteered in many programs where I had the opportunity to tutor Elementary and High School students. As in College, I also joined Peer Tutoring Program. I tutored a wide array of subjects that included Chemistry, Biology, Physic, Mandarin, and Math.
